1. What is Ayurved ?

Ans.

Ayurved is the ancient and traditional system of Natural Healing from India. It is one of the oldest scientific medical systems in the world, with a long record of clinical experience. The word “Ayu” means Life & The word “Veda” means knowledge or learning.

2. Please tell something about Ayurvedic Treatment Plans

Ans.

  • Diet : "Do's & Don'ts" Recommendations are individualized to a person's doshic Constitution and the season.
  • Detoxification & Cleansing : This may be done through Panchakarma or fasting, diets etc.
  • Herbal medicine: Various time-tested formulae are described in Ayurved's Grantha ( Reference Books ).

 

3. Why Pathyapathya ( Dos & Don'ts ) are very Important according to Ayurved ?

Pathya = Dos

Apathya = Don'ts

 

" पथ्येसति गदार्तस्य किमौषधं निषेवणैः ।

पथ्येSसति गदार्तस्य किमौषधं निषेवणैः ॥ "

 

One who follows the ‘Pathyas’ (suitable diet and regime, according to Daily regimen & Seosanal regimen) has not need of any medicine (because by this means, one can maintain his health thoroughly without having any medicine even after he become ill). On the other hand, one who does not follow the ‘Pathyas’ should never go for any medicine (because he will never get benefit of health even after having treatment).

 

Food is an important constituent in a living environment and its importance is mentioned in Ayurveda.

The food is classified according to its predominant properties into palliative, vitiating and healthy. Palliative food is known as "health-friendly" or pathyakar food, which are beneficial to our body.

Food may be selected according to age, occupation, temperament and state of the health.

Food should be balanced
